Every Monday we host our Academy night at BOX Andover. This follows the Junior Awards Limited structured and nationally recognised course.

There are 6 possible levels to achieve in the Boxing Awards course. We run 3 levels in the same session, with a coach for each group as a minimum. The preliminary, standard and bronze awards start our Monday night off at 17:45, the silver gold and platinum follows this at 18:30.

Each course is priced at £49 for 7 weeks and each student will progress through each level at the same time as their classmates.

The awards are a fun recreational activity which involves teaching the basics of non-contact amateur boxing to children from the age of 5 years. This includes stance /guard and footwork as well as punches and defences. Each lesson is well structured and includes joint mobility, 1st phase warm up and stretch, fun and games prior to the non contact boxing lesson and a cool down.
The GB Boxing Awards are designed as a 6 stage National award scheme, with the awards being Preliminary, Standard, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Each award lasts a total of 7 sessions with each session lasting approximately 45 minutes. On successful completion of each award there are GB Boxing Awards Certificate’s and Medals to be awarded.

Each student has a GB Boxing Booklet to follow for each level of the awards, the booklet contains information and exercise questions which they need to complete in order to pass the relevant award. Marks are also awarded for dress, good behaviour and enthusiasm.
At BOX Andover, located just a short drive from your school, we have a number of coaches qualified to deliver this awards scheme which is also part of an ASDAN Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) as well as GCSEPE, BTEC, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and The Prince’s Trust Award.

Communal gloves are available from the gym, so you will have everything you require for the sessions. The student will receive this at the start of their first class and they'll need to bring it to each session. We do recommend purchasing gloves and handwraps so the student has their own set for future courses. All equipment is available at our online store and we offer a discount code to all sign up's.
We're proud to be offering this Awards scheme and I am sure you are aware of the benefits of boxing. It is excellent for fitness, co-ordination, speed and agility, weight loss and also helps to develop higher self-esteem, confidence, discipline, and social inclusion to name but a few.
If you are an educational institution interested in us delivering this scheme in your school please contact us via seanders@gmail.com or call 07738374303.
